A message from DISD Intergovernmental Affairs & Community Relations

Hello!

Below is a survey and volunteer opportunity we would love for you to share with your membership/network. If possible, we would love to come and talk with your group about opportunities available for engagement with Dallas ISD. Thank you again for your continued support!

We need your input on Public School Choice.

Please take the survey today!

Dallas Independent School District needs your help! We are committed to providing more educational options for our students, based on their specific interests, learning styles, and needs. By tapping into our students’ individuality, we can improve their learning dramatically and ensure that they are college-and-career ready by the time they graduate.

Over the next five years, we plan to launch 35 new public choice schools or programs that reflect student, parent, educator, and community desires and needs. These new schools or programs will look similar to some existing Dallas ISD magnet schools, only without the academic admissions requirements. In order to do this, we first need to hear your opinions!

This survey should take no longer than 5 minutes. It is designed to seek input from all community members residing within Dallas ISD boundaries. Please note that this survey is not limited to only parents of Dallas ISD students – all citizens living within Dallas ISD boundaries are encouraged to complete this survey. The information gathered from this survey will help the district develop a plan that meets community desires and needs. We ask that you fill it out as accurately and completely as possible.

If you would like to utilize the Spanish version of the survey, please click here.

Your voice matters to us. Thank you!

Thank you for your continued support!

Destination 2020 is the district’s action plan to prepare more college- and career-ready students than any large urban district in the nation.

The path to this goal begins early in our students’ education. We know that students who are not reading proficiently by the end of 3rd-grade are four times less likely to graduate high school on time.

This is where you can make a difference. One-on-one support for struggling readers is highly effective at bringing early elementary students up to grade level.

Supporting a student is easy—it requires no special degree or experience. We will equip you with the training and tools to guide your students to success.

Will you commit one hour a week this school year to serve Dallas ISD students?
