DISD Scholars from Harry Stone

On Thursday, March 19th, Dallas ISD recognized 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th graders in the top 5% of their grade level for the entire school district in a ceremony at Ellis Davis Field House.

We wanted to make sure that we at Harry Stone also acknowledge their achievements, and in particular the 21 7th and 8th grade students from Harry Stone who made this list. By my rough calculation, that’s around 15% of our 7/8 graders.

This is the first year of an annual recognition ceremony planned by DISD for our district, and our school’s, top performing students. We look forward to adding Harry Stone students to this list year after year. Congratulations to all of the DISD Scholars from Harry Stone for the 2014-2015 school year.

Thanks, Mr. Bennett, for highlighting this program and our phenomenal students.

Stone rocks at March UIL Academic

Harry Stone students once again rocked at the UIL competition this March. Our students placed in 6th-8th competed in a number of academic categories, and placed well, with 16 top 3 places.

Congratulations to the students, parents and teachers, and we’re proud of all of you who participated for stepping up to the challenge.

The first place team named About A Week Ago will go on to compete in the state tournament on April 11th. We are so proud of all the participants and wish them luck at state.
